Covid-19 Office Procedure
We here at Hamilton Pediatric Dentistry are thrilled to welcome you back as we re-open on 6/4/2020 for patient care in accordance to Michigan’s guidelines. We want you to know that while we have always implemented the very best infection control practices, we are adding the additional COVID-19 guidelines. Dr. Hamilton and our Team will be screened daily for signs or symptoms of any health concerns including Covid-19 to ensure patient care safety. As always, we will follow specific protocols in regards to proper hand hygiene and personal protective equipment. Specific sterilization procedures of instruments and disinfection of workplaces areas will be meticulously maintained.
Patients and their families will be contacted by our office prior to their appointment to review office protocols, current health screening questions, and confirm appointments.
All efforts are being made to minimize the number of people in the office and to maintain social distancing. In order to help facilitate this, we ask our patients and families to make every effort to follow our protocols.
- We ask you to please complete paperwork online prior to your child’s appointment.
- Upon arrival, we request you notify our staff of your arrival (by calling the office or checking in at our screening station). Our properly protected staff member will reconfirm screening questions and obtain the temperature of the patient and accompanying adult. The patient will be asked to wait in their vehicle until they are ready to be taken into the office for their appointment. This will help minimize people waiting in the waiting area.
- If you need to accompany your child to their appointment, please have only one parent/guardian come with the patient for their appointment. Siblings who do not have an appointment should stay home. Both patient and accompanying adult will be screened before entering the office. We ask that other non-essential persons wait in their vehicle to minimize the number of people in the office.
- We ask that anyone entering the office wear their own face mask. This can be a homemade mask or a scarf. We will provide areas for hand washing and will have stations for hand sanitizer readily available.
The health and safety of our patients, families, and community is our priority. We want to thank you for your trust in us as we provide your family with safe and convenient dental care.
If you had an appointment that was missed or an upcoming appointment scheduled you will be receiving a phone call to confirm or reschedule accordingly; this will be a lot of phone calls so we greatly appreciate your patience as we navigate our schedule. We understand that comfort levels with returning to the public will vary. We want you to know that while we have always implemented the very best infection control practices and are abiding by additional COVID-19 guidelines, we understand if you do not feel comfortable returning to our office just yet. We do, however, ask that you let us know if you would like to cancel your appointment so that we may be able to use that time to help another child. Thank you for your patience during these very uncertain times— we miss our patients very much and we hope everyone has stayed safe and healthy.
